Combining care and support with companionship, Watling Court enables residents to continue living independently whilst benefiting from a community environment. Since the scheme opened in 2011, the residents have created genuine friendships which in turn, has shaped a real family environment.

Conveniently located in Gravesend, Watling Court comprises 56 apartments alongside communal facilities for over 55s. Apartments are available on an affordable basis, via the local authority, Gravesham Borough Council. Personal and domestic care can be provided* by our on-site domiciliary care team, Caring Companions, alternatively your support needs can be met by a care provider of your choice, a friend or a loved one.

Those living at Watling Court enjoy living independent lives within the community, with peace of mind that they are in a safe environment with housing staff on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week, should an emergency arise. A two-course hot meal is provided each day at lunch time, giving residents the opportunity to socialise and get to know their neighbours. Your guests are welcome to join you for lunch, for a small charge.

Watling Court has everything you need all under one roof but getting out and about is easy too. There are convenience stores, food outlets and a pharmacy just a short stroll from the scheme and there is a bus stop just across the street. The local buses provide direct access into Gravesend, Dartford and Bluewater. For when your guests visit, Gravesend has plenty to offer including a theatre and cinema, multiple leisure centres and libraries and a bustling high street with some great restaurants.

To be eligible to live at Watling Court, all applicants must be aged 55 or over. At least one of the applicants must be assessed to have a minimum care and/or support need of 3.5 hours per week. A care and support need could include requiring some domestic assistance to maintain your home through to personal care.

All apartments at Watling Court are available on an affordable rent basis, via the local authority, Gravesham Borough Council (GBC).

Those wishing to rent an apartment must be nominated by GBC, which will mean being accepted on to the council’s Housing Register.
