Feeding the chickens, taking a walk in the garden, or crafting with the local school children, there is something for everyone at Barnes Lodge.

Purpose built in 2016 and designed with the best practice dementia care in mind, Barnes Lodge offers spacious and well decorated bedrooms with en suite wet rooms. There are ample communal facilities, including an expansive garden overlooked by trees.

Upon arriving at Barnes Lodge, you are sure to notice the abundance of space and light, flooding in from the many windows and patio doors, revealing the surrounding greenery. The home is spread over three floors, each of which offer seating and interest areas and a dining room, which acts as a social hub at mealtimes.

Daily life can be however you want it to be at Barnes Lodge. Each floor has a dedicated social activities facilitator, who supports residents to implement a calendar of inspiring and innovative activities and outings.

Activities vary, depending on what the residents fancy doing, but can include baking, crafting, gardening and days out to nearby places of interest. Residents and staff have established some great relationships with local groups, including the nearby primary school, who visit bi-weekly to join the residents for activities.

The social activities facilitators also support residents during one to one time, as well as encouraging them to continue their own hobbies.

We believe that mealtimes are about more than just the food you eat, so for us, they provide a social experience and the opportunity to chat with friends.

We are committed to ensuring our residents enjoy nutritious homecooked meals that are seasonal, varied and their choice. Our catering team, Catering Academy, are well-trained and can cater for a diverse range of dietary requirements, contact the home to discuss your needs and we will do all we can to help.

As well as daily meals and snacks, special events are celebrated within the home, whether that’s a Pimm’s on a summer afternoon of strawberries and cream in the garden during Wimbledon.

Overlooked by greenery, Barnes Lodge is conveniently located to explore the bustle of the market town, as well as the surrounding villages and rural areas.

Tonbridge town centre is just a mile away and a 20-minute walk from the home, with taxi facilities and regular buses available. Tonbridge is a market town in the west of Kent with good transport links, being served by bus routes to nearby Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks, Bromley, Hadlow, West Malling and Maidstone.

The rail station is one of the busiest in Kent, with lines running direct to London, Ashford, Hastings and Redhill. For those visiting by car, Tonbridge is served by the A21 trunk road, which runs between London and Hastings, the A26, which runs from Maidstone to Brighton, and is close to the M25 motorway.

Tonbridge has a good selection of attractions and amenities for residents and visitors alike. These include: Tonbridge Castle, a large country park, swimming pool, leisure centre and the Oast Theatre. Most of the shopping facilities are located on the High Street which runs through the town centre.

Within half a mile of the home there is a pub and restaurant, convenience store, chain hotel and bus stops.

Drawn up with the individuals we support and their families, our care plans are person centred and created with respect ensuring that their nursing and care needs are met and their independence and choices maximised.

With a complement of fully trained registered nurses on duty around the clock, along with our exceptional care staff, we can devote the time and attention necessary to deliver the outstanding level of personalised care at all times of the day and night.

Our nursing team have excellent skills in the care of those in advanced years and are fully equipped to deal with all circumstances, employing the latest equipment for maximum ease and comfort.
