Care Home’s Animal Visit is the Bee’s Knees

Residents and staff put their brave faces on at Barnes Lodge Care Home in Tonbridge this week, when ZooLab brought some creepy crawlies in for an educational visit.

Armed with an array of animals, from snakes and snails to tarantulas and tree frogs, the ZooLab ranger fired up the residents’ imaginations with an educational and inspiring close-up animal encounter.

Residents of the Tudeley Lane care home were invited to learn about the animals and how they live their lives, before getting a bit closer, only if they wanted to! But the residents were incredibly courageous and didn’t even bat an eyelid at stroking the snake, whilst many of the staff and relatives were more than a little apprehensive.

Nicky Pett, General Manager at Barnes Lodge said: “The residents had a fab afternoon watching ZooLab’s animal encounter, they were invited to get involved with all aspects of the presentation, so they were really engaged. Even the next day, they were all still talking about how brilliant it was!”
