Celebrating the Queen’s Coronation at Margaret Fisher House
Residents of Margaret Fisher House in Paddock Wood celebrated the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee on Friday evening, with a celebratory party.
Staff had decorated the dining room especially for the special occasion, with plenty of flags and bunting hung around the Old Kent Road supported home, and the table was set in red, white and blue, with a bottle of festive fizz ready to pop.
Toasting to the third longest reigning monarch in the world, the residents enjoyed a buffet tea and a celebratory tipple, whilst listening to music from the 1950s.
After their tea, they took to the lounge, where they continued their celebration, whilst watching the TV coverage of the milestone and sharing memories with one another.
Carmel Belshaw, Housekeeper at Margaret Fisher House said: “We had a lovely patriotic evening at our Jubilee celebrations, many of our residents grew up alongside the Queen, watching the royal family’s many milestones, so it was very special for them to be able to celebrate together.”
