Gravesend Residents Enjoy Easter Eggs-travaganza of Activities
Residents of Watling Court Extra Care Housing Scheme in Gravesend enjoyed a cracking weekend of egg-cellent Easter events.
The egg-citing activities were endless this week at Watling Court as the residents got together for some Easter filled fun, from culinary to crafting.
The Easter week started with some crafting, making hanging decorations and hand painting eggs, the crafty residents also personalised their own Easter bonnets, ready for their parade at the weekend.
Easter wouldn’t be Easter without plenty of chocolate, so the residents also made some mini egg cornflake cakes, as well as shaping and decorating some chocolate eggs.
Hot cross buns were on the menu on Good Friday, when the residents gathered for an Easter themed afternoon tea. There were plenty of the toasted treats on offer, alongside a range of preserves and a nice hot cuppa.
The famous Easter bonnet parade took place on Sunday, with the residents showcasing their handmade bonnets on the catwalk, with the winning artists given Easter eggs. And the fun didn’t end there, as the staff and residents enjoyed some games, including bingo and an egg and spoon race.
Helen Goulding, Housing Officer at Watling Court said: “We always have lots going on here for special occasions and there was certainly plenty for the residents to enjoy over the Easter period. It was great to have some family and friends join us too, after a couple of years with restrictions, it was a very special time to have everyone together.”
