School Children Join Extra Care Residents for Remembrance Day
Pupils of the nearby Bishop Chavasse Primary School joined residents of Rosewell House Extra Care Housing Scheme in Tonbridge to commemorate Remembrance Day together.
The residents and young children came together at the Tudeley Lanr scheme, for an intergenerational event to remember together on Thursday 11th November.
To keep the residents safe and warm, the children remained in the scheme’s garden, where they sang hymns and presented readings in a very special visit.
The children of Bishop Chavasse Primary School have been friends of Rosewell House and the care home next door, Barnes Lodge, for several years now, so it was lovely for everyone to be reunited, after being apart for so long due to the pandemic.
Jackie Little, Housing Officer at Rosewell House said: “We would have loved to have the children in but to keep everyone safe, we opted for a garden visit, it was still very special and the residents were safe and warm.
“They thoroughly enjoyed the visit and found the hymns and readings very moving, hopefully we’ll be able to see the children again soon.”
