Care Home Residents Keep Cool With Crafting
Residents of Rogers House Residential Care Home in Wigmore made the most of the heatwave and enjoyed getting stuck into some crafting in the garden.
With the sun shining and the temperatures higher than we’ve seen for a while, residents of the Drewery Drive care home decided to take their craft session outside this week and enjoy the warm weather.
The crafty residents enjoyed a cup of tea whilst they made their own lavender bags, from start to finish. They removed the lavender buds from their stems, before combining them with rice and adding them to a pouch, complete with custom labels.
The ladies planned to pop their lavender bags in their bedrooms, so they can enjoy the beautiful summer aroma in the weeks to come, as we welcome autumn and colder days.
Jackie Miles, Home Manager of Rogers House said: “Our residents love their crafts and our activity coordinators always make sure there is something innovative and interesting on offer for them to try. The group had great fun making the lavender bags and of course it’s great they can enjoy using them too.”
