Local Waitrose Store Makes Kind Donation to Supported Home

Since the outbreak of Covid-19, the Waitrose store in Paddock Wood has kindly supported residents of the nearby Margaret Fisher House Supported Home.

At the height of the pandemic, staff at the store, kindly invited staff of the supported home to shop for goods direct from the warehouse, avoiding the queues and ensuring they could get the items they needed for the residents. They have also donated various items including soaps, toilet rolls and the residents’ favourite cakes.

The home’s main contact at the store, Philippa, has continued to support the staff and residents of the home throughout the difficult times over the past 18 months and most recently gave them a store gift card to the value of £100.

The staff used part of the money to fund the residents’ buffet for a celebratory party last week week and the remainder will be used for other upcoming celebrations.

Carmel Belshaw, Housekeeper at Margaret Fisher House said: “On behalf of everyone at Margaret Fisher House, I’d like to say thank you to everyone at Waitrose for their ongoing support since the start of the pandemic and a very special thank you to Phillipa.”
