Northfleet Care Home Residents Enjoy Lunch at their Local

Keen to make the most of the eased restrictions and warmer weather, residents of Dene Holm Residential Care Home in Northfleet enjoyed an afternoon out at the pub.

A long-awaited pub lunch was on the menu for residents of the Dene Holm Road care home this week, as staff took them out for a walk and a meal at the local pub.

The sun was shining so residents enjoyed the slow and short stroll to the nearby Six Bells Pub, where they were delighted to receive a warm welcome from the landlord’s dog, Hugo. Once they got inside, the hungry residents settled down with a drink (a nice cold pint for some!) before tucking into a tasty lunch.

Christine Hutchinson, General Manager of Dene Holm said: “The residents are so happy to be getting out and about again after such a long time at home. A couple of weeks ago Morrisons invited them for lunch at the café and they had great fun visiting the pub this week.

“They’ve really missed out on things like that in the past year, so it’s lovely to see them having fun on outings again and looking forward to a summer of activities.”
