There is Such a Thing as a Free Lunch for Northfleet Care Home Residents

Residents of Dene Holm Residential Care Home in Northfleet were treated to a free lunch at Morrisons, thanks to the kind staff at the Coldharbour Road superstore.

After over a year of very few outings, residents of the Dene Holm Road care home were over the moon to be invited to the Morrisons store just down the road for a spot of lunch.

The staff at Morrisons regularly treat the residents, dropping in flowers and cakes, and with lockdown easing, Chris Bradford, the home’s contact at the store, decided to invite them all in for a free lunch.

With a special table set just for them, the residents had a lovely time tucking into their lunch and enjoying a cup of tea and for many, it was the first outing in a very long time.

Christine Hutchinson, General Manager of Dene Holm said: “We are very grateful to the staff at our local Morrisons store, they’ve been so kind since they reached out to us, delivering gifts and things for the residents to do, like baking kits and flowers for flower arranging.

“Their invitation for the residents to go along for lunch was incredibly generous and everyone had a lovely time, thank you Morrisons.”
