Canterbury Residents Spend Fruitful Morning Making Smoothies

Residents of Connors House Residential Care Home in Canterbury went bananas and enjoyed some fruity fun this week, making sublime fresh smoothies.

Staff put on an activity that certainly packed a punch this week at the Craddock Road residential care home, with residents preparing and sampling some fresh fruit smoothies.

Peeling, chopping and whizzing up apples, kiwis, bananas and more, the residents concocted a variety of refreshing drinks, in a bid to find their favourite flavour combination and they were rewarded with some tasty beverages, the fruits of their labour.

Christine Devlin, Home Manager of Connors House said: “With the arrival of spring and some slightly warmer sunny days, we thought a morning of smoothie making was a great idea.

“The residents really enjoy helping with food preparation and assisting staff, as it gives them a sense of purpose and is rewarding, especially when they can enjoy sampling their hard work after. Everyone had great fun making the smoothies and is looking forward to doing it again soon.”
