Extra Care Residents Don’t Beat Around the Bush
Eagerly awaiting the warmer days, Pat, Sheila and Gary, residents of Watling Court Extra Care Housing Scheme in Gravesend, have been busy sprucing up the garden.
Hopeful for sun-filled days, when they can enjoy the garden with their fellow residents, the green-fingered trio decided to tackle some gardening jobs, so it’s ready for summer and the easing of restrictions.
From potting plants and tidying weeds to repainting the benches, no job was too big as they pulled on their gardening gloves and got stuck into the jobs at hand.
Helen Goulding, Housing Officer at Watling Court said: “Our residents usually love getting together in the garden but over the past year, it has been a bit neglected as we haven’t been using it.
“The residents love to help out around the scheme and in particular with the gardening. Many of them enjoyed tending to their own gardens before moving in, so it is great that they can still do that here, it is their home after all. The garden looks great now and the residents are looking forward to meeting up outside, we just need some sunshine!”
