Rogers House Residents Wish Loved Ones ‘Hoppy Easter’

Residents of Rogers House Residential Care Home in Wigmore spent a morning preparing some eggs-tra special cards to send to their loved ones, ahead of the Easter celebrations.

The spirit of spring was in the air at the Drewery Drive residential care home this week, where residents have been getting stuck into some cracking Easter activities.

It may be a few weeks away yet but that didn’t stop them, as they dug out their craft box and enjoyed some therapeutic colouring. In addition, they wrote some Easter cards for their loved ones.

Jackie Miles, Home Manager of Rogers House said: “Easter is usually a time for families to get together but as was the case last year, this year we find ourselves, yet again, unable to freely have visitors in to celebrate with us.

“With that in mind, our activity team spent some time making cards with the residents, writing to their families and letting them know they are safe, well and thinking of them. In addition to modern technology for video calls, we’ve sent a lot of old fashioned letters this year, as the residents really enjoy writing them and receiving replies, of course!”
