Pancake Day is Flipping Good fun for Gravesend & Northfleet Care Home Residents
Shrove Tuesday proved to be stacks of fun for residents at Edward Moore House and Dene Holm Residential Care Home, as they enjoyed a tossing tournament.
With their game faces on and their frying pans at the ready, residents of both homes enjoyed some Pancake Day fun this week, in the form of a pancake tossing competition.
Each participant was to flip a pancake as many times as they could, until the pancake was eventually (or sometimes rather quickly) lost to the floor. And the activity didn’t fall flat as a pancake, as plenty of laughs were had and plenty of pancakes wound up on the floor too.
Following a morning full of flipping the frying pan, the residents had worked up quite an appetite so were delighted when the catering team provided some fresh pancakes for lunch, served with all the traditional toppings.
Christine Hutchinson, Home Manager of both care homes said: “Pancake Day is always good fun in our homes, whether being silly with them or eating them, everyone had great fun and that is what it’s all about!”
