It’s a Holly Jolly Christmas at Connors House
Despite things being very different this Christmas, it was still a jolly affair at Connors House Residential Care Home, where there was plenty of festive cheer.
There have been plenty of seasonal activities taking place over the past few weeks, to get everyone in the Christmas spirit. From carol services (albeit on Zoom!) to card making craft mornings, it’s been business as usual for our residents, despite the ongoing pandemic.
And in a bid to keep things as normal as possible for our residents, Christmas Day was just as you’d expect too. Gifts were handed out in the morning by staff and residents, dressed in some rather festive fancy dress, and gift giving was followed by a traditional Christmas lunch.
The hungry residents tucked into a delicious roast turkey with all the trimmings, of course, followed by a festive Christmas pudding and a tipple of sherry, it wouldn’t be Christmas without it after all.
Christine Devlin, Home Manager of Connors House said: “It’s been a difficult year for everyone and although we’ve managed to keep Covid-19 at bay here at Connors House, it’s still been a very challenging time. Despite that, our team has been committed to keeping life as normal as possible for our residents and that is the case at Christmas too.
“Staff on duty ensured the residents had a wonderful day and that there was plenty of festive fun on offer!”
