Santa Delivers Gifts to Northfleet Residents
With the help of the kind local community, staff at Dene Holm Residential Care Home ensured Christmas was very special for their residents this year.
Despite it being a very different Christmas this year, the celebration was still as normal as possible at Dene Holm in Northfleet, where residents and staff got into the Christmas spirit.
Thanks to a campaign started by the local Morrisons store and the generosity of a member of staff’s family, the residents had plenty of gifts to open, as Activity Coordinator, Lea-Ann Shaw, dressed as Father Christmas to hand out the gifts.
Following the opening of their gifts, the residents tucked into a traditional turkey lunch with all the trimmings, followed by a delicious Christmas pudding, with the tables dressed especially for the occasion with the finest tableware and decorations.
Christine Hutchinson, Home Manager of Dene Holm said: “This year has been a challenge for everyone but more than ever we have seen that kindness and generosity prevails when times are hard.
“Our teams have worked so hard to support one another and our neighbours and the community have really rallied together to support us and keep our spirits up, for which we are very grateful. Let’s hope it’s a happy new year for us all!”
