Care Home Residents Recall Tying the Knot
For most of us, our wedding day is one of the most memorable of our lives and that too is the case for many of our residents, so the ladies at Dene Holm spent an afternoon reminiscing about theirs.
Even though for most of them it was 60-70 years ago, many of our residents can still remember the day they said ‘I do’ very well, as it is naturally one of their most deep-rooted memories.
With memories of walking down the aisle in their minds, residents of Dene Holm Residential Care Home in Northfleet spent a morning sharing memories of their big day with one another and even trying on some traditional wedding dresses. One resident in particular, Anita, was over the moon to be trying on dresses; well it is every girl’s dream isn’t it?
Chris Hutchinson, Home Manager of Dene Holm said: “Our residents’ wedding days hold very special memories for them so they had a wonderful time reminiscing together and sharing stories about their special day and what married life was like for them.
“They particularly enjoyed digging the lovely old dresses out and trying them on, which was such a treat and proved to be a brilliantly innovative and nostalgic activity!”
