Gravesend Residents Test Memory with Mini Museum Activity
Residents of Edward Moore House Residential Care Home in Gravesend enjoyed a nostalgic morning, exploring some interesting old items in a mini museum activity.
A reminiscent morning was on the cards for the residents of the Trinity Road care home, when staff offered a bit of a history lesson, in the form of an ‘at home museum’ activity.
With day trips and outings unfortunately unable to happen at the moment, staff decided to bring an outing in. There were plenty of old items from the past 80 years on display for the residents to peruse, some of which they could identify, others which left them clueless, as they spent a morning learning about the objects staff had sourced.
Melanie Martin, Deputy Manager at Edward Moore House commented: “With entertainers still unable to come into the home, our activity staff are doing an excellent job at offering creative and inspired activities to the residents, even though they are under pressure to keep the activity programme going, when many of their usual ‘go tos’ are not on the cards. We’re very proud of how the whole team of staff have pulled together to keep 2020 as normal as possible for everyone in the home.”
