Flower Donation is Blooming Wonderful
Residents at Dene Holm Residential Care Home had flower power this week, when they tried their hand at flower arranging, courtesy of their local Morrisons store.
Summer is definitely over but residents at our Northfleet residential care home held on to it this week, when they created some beautiful floral arrangements, thanks to the local supermarket.
Chris from the Morrisons store in Coldharbour Road kindly dropped off several boxes of fresh flowers for residents, following an appeal from the home’s activity coordinator on Facebook.
The residents had a wonderful morning and were spoilt for choice with which flowers to use in their displays, the end result was lots of vases filled with beautiful vibrant flowers, which the residents could display in their rooms and in the communal areas.
Lea-Ann Shaw, Activity Coordinator at Dene Holm commented: “I put a post on Facebook asking if any local florists had any flowers that were likely to be thrown away, as we can often use those with a short date in our flower arranging activities.
“I was absolutely over the moon when Chris stopped by with endless bouquets of gorgeous flowers, there were so many, and they were all still lovely and fresh. It was very kind of them and the residents were thrilled, so we’d like to say a big thank you!”
