Local School Delivers Easter in July to Rogers House Care Home Neighbours
All the eggs were in Rogers House’s basket this week, as teachers and children from Parkwood Primary School dropped off over 100 Easter treats.
Easter may be just a distant lockdown memory but for residents at our Drewery Drive residential care home, the bunny brought a belated treat last week, when the school next door delivered a sweet treat.
Pupils and parents of the school arrived with the surprise delivery, as a treat for their older neighbours. The eggs were originally supposed to be used for the children’s Easter Egg Hunt but of course, they were all sent home from school from the end of March.
Jackie Miles, Home Manager at Rogers House commented: “The residents were over the moon with the school children’s generous gesture, it’s never too late for Easter eggs, even in July!
“The surprise put a smile on everyone’s faces and was a real treat, so we’d like to say thank you once again to the school for their generosity and for thinking of us.”
