Tonbridge Care Home Welcomes Families Back for Marquee Visits

Barnes Lodge Care Home in Tudeley Lane, Tonbridge have excitedly welcomed family members back to the home to be reunited with their loved ones, with the help of an outdoor marquee.

Covid-19 has affected us all, not just in this country, but across the World, with one of the toughest parts being unable to see family and friends. Residents at Barnes Lodge have waited patiently during this difficult time and can now finally see their family members and friends once again. By carefully following government guidelines, Barnes Lodge staff have worked tirelessly to set up an outdoor marquee, which allowed loved ones to reunite, whilst socially distancing.

Staff spent the weekend decorating the marquee and making sure it looked homely, welcoming and warm, whilst also ensuring there was a suitable distance to keep everyone safe. Residents and family members have been overjoyed to be able to see each other again after such a difficult time.

Nicky Pett, Home Manager at Barnes Lodge commented: “Our residents have done so amazingly well during Covid-19 and it has been a joy to be able to welcome back family members. Staff put so much effort into creating a lovely space and being able to now have these visits has made a huge difference to everyone.”
