Care Staff are Heroes for Fancy Dress Friday
As fancy dress Fridays continue at Watling Court Extra Care Housing Scheme in Gravesend, the team chose an apt theme of ‘heroes’ for their latest occasion.
Not all heroes wear capes, but some do! Staff and residents at the Ifield Way housing scheme dressed up as heroes for their Friday fancy dress this week and there were plenty of inspiring outfits on display.
From doctors and nurses to police officers, everyone made a real effort, with lots of residents choosing to get involved too. Some staff chose to wear their usual work attire, in addition to capes and masks, because health care workers truly are heroes.
Staff at the scheme introduced fancy dress Fridays during lockdown, in a bid to lift everyone’s spirits and brighten their day. They’ve embraced plenty of themes from glamour to sports day and are looking forward to continuing the special event, for as long as lockdown continues.
Helen Goulding, Housing Officer at Watling Court said: “Our fancy dress Friday is growing every week, more and more people want to get involved, which is great as it really brings a smile to everyone’s day.
“We thought the theme of heroes was fitting for this week, as the staff here really are heroes, they’ve carried on working day in day out, throughout the pandemic to keep everyone safe and well supported, keeping calm and just getting on with it – they’re all truly inspiring.”
