Canterbury Residents Keep Calm and Carry on Baking
With the rest of the world making banana bread, it seems, residents of Connors House Residential Care Home have been keeping busy and making cupcakes.
Many of us are enjoying baking at the moment, as a way to relax and keep busy and that too is the case for residents at our Craddock Road residential care home in Canterbury.
The residents always relish their regular baking activity but with no visitors coming in, it’s something they’ve found themselves doing and enjoying more than ever.
Christine Devlin, General Manager of Connors House said: “Normally we would have visitors coming in to entertain the residents, whether that’s a musician, exercise class or a visit from a school but obviously, we are not living in normal times at the moment.
“Staff have had to be a little bit more creative with activities but we’ve found that things like baking, which we’ve always done, are proving to be very relaxing and enjoyable activities for the residents.”
