Tossing Tournament is Flipping Good fun for Tonbridge Residents
Pancakes were flying at Barnes Lodge Care Home yesterday, as residents got together to enjoy a tossing tournament, to determine who could flip their pancake the most times.
It was an action-packed Shrove Tuesday at the Tudeley Lane care home, as residents and staff gathered together to enjoy a pancake themed challenge. Taking their turns with the pancake and frying pan, competitors were invited to toss their pancake as many times as they could, before they either lost their pancake to the floor, or it crumbled into several pieces.
Everyone put a great effort in to win the challenge and take the crown, with some impressive flips counted but with achy wrists and several pancakes on the floor, it was time to enjoy eating some fresh ones instead.
And the kitchen team were serving up fresh pancakes by the dozen too, as all that competitive flipping fun meant residents had worked up quite an appetite. They tucked into the traditional tasty treats topped with lemon, sugar and maple syrup.
Nicky Pett, General Manager of Barnes Lodge said: “The residents had great fun flipping their pancakes, as it was something everyone could have a go at. There were plenty of laughs as many were lost to the floor but it was all good fun!”
