Northfleet Residents Enjoy Flipping Fun for Pancake Day

Pancake Day was stacks of fun for residents of Dene Holm Residential Care Home in Northfleet as they enjoyed a tossing tournament, as well as tucking into some tasty treats.

Armed with their non-stick frying pans and an endless supply of pancakes, the residents got together for a special Shrove Tuesday flipping competition, to see who could flip their pancakes the most times, before dropping it, or it falling to pieces.

The residents had great fun, revealing their culinary talents and embracing their competitive streaks and whilst plenty of pancakes found themselves on the floor, it was a fun-filled afternoon.

After their competition, they enjoyed tucking into some freshly prepared pancakes with traditional toppings of lemon and sugar, well they had worked up quite an appetite after all!

Chris Hutchinson, General Manager of Dene Holm said: “Everyone had great fun at the flipping tournament, it was something everyone could have a go at, regardless of ability and it brought out a competitive side that we didn’t know some of the residents had!

“Of course, they enjoyed sampling the fresh pancakes too, the lemon and sugar topping was definitely a favourite amongst the group!”
