Bonfire Night Goes off with a Bang at Watling Court

Residents of Watling Court enjoyed some fireworks and fun at the Gravesend extra care housing scheme last weekend.

Joined by their family and friends, residents were treated to a fireworks display in their very own garden, complete with sparklers, a bonfire-inspired buffet and a tipple, or two.

Some wrapped up warm and headed outside to get front row seats of the display, whilst others opted to stay inside in the warm, putting their chairs in the window to ensure a good view.

Following the dazzling display, residents and their guests tucked into traditional bonfire night treats, including spicy soup, hot dogs with onions and warming jacket potatoes with cheese.

Helen Goulding, Housing Officer at Watling Court commented: “Our fireworks display has become an annual event for the residents here. It’s not always easy to get out and about for them and it’s so cold, so having the display here means they don’t miss out on the fun. Everyone had a great time, with lots of family, friends and staff joining us for the occasion.”
