Tonbridge Residents Shake up Friday with Lunch Time Cocktails

Residents of Barnes Lodge Care Home definitely had that Friday feeling today, when staff brightened up a grey and gloomy day with their Hawaiian themed drinks trolley.

For residents of the Tudeley Lane Care Home a liquid lunch was on the cards today, as staff were serving up cocktails, as well as the classic Friday fish and chips.

With their inflatable ice bucket full of cocktails and bottles of fizz, residents were invited to try a cocktail of their choice, which came served in a delicate flute, complete with an umbrella.

As well as the residents in the dining room, staff made sure to take their trolley round to those who stayed in their rooms too, ensuring everyone had the chance to get involved.

Nicky Pett, General Manager of Barnes Lodge said: “The drinks trolley was a great Friday treat for the residents, it’s such a small thing but it really brightens up their day. It is great for the residents who don’t get out and about so much too, as they can still be involved in the group activities.”
