Canterbury Care Home Residents Join Sainsbury’s to Celebrate 150 Years

Keen to involve the community in their celebrations, Sainsbury’s invited residents of Connors House Care Home in Canterbury, to join them for afternoon tea.

Arriving at St Stephen’s Social Club accompanied by staff, the residents were joined by people from other care homes and groups for a very special celebration to commemorate 150 years of the supermarket.

The residents enjoyed plenty of sandwiches, savoury treats and delicious cakes, as well as several cups of tea, of course! They were also given a raffle ticket on entry, with two of them winning vouchers to spend in store.

Christine Devlin, Home Manager of Connors House said: “It was great for Sainsbury’s to think of us to join them for their special celebration, everyone who attended had a lovely time.

“We are very committed to being part of the community here in Canterbury and getting involved with local things, so it was a lovely opportunity to join other community groups and enjoy getting to know them.”
