Rosewell House Celebrates First Birthday!

On Saturday 15th June, residents and friends of Rosewell House Extra Care Housing Scheme celebrated the scheme’s first birthday with a barbecue and garden party.

Residents, friends and staff of the Tudeley Lane scheme in Tonbridge were joined by the Mayor of Tonbridge and Malling and leader of the council, to celebrate the success of the scheme’s first year.

The scheme’s caterers, Catering Academy, provided the barbecue and the rain held off for most of the afternoon, so residents and their guests could make the most of the lovely garden. The caterers also made a huge cake, shaped and decorated to look just like Rosewell House!

As well as speeches from the Mayor of Tonbridge and Malling, Cllr Jill Anderson and Chief Executive, Leon Steer, some of the residents opted to say a few words about their home too, one resident even wrote a poem about how much they love life at Rosewell House.

Residents and their guests enjoyed the tasty food along with a few drinks, whilst a DJ provided some music. Friends of Rosewell House, The Sound Bytes also treated partygoers to some live music for part of the afternoon.

Jackie Little, Housing Officer at Rosewell House said: “It’s hard to believe the scheme has been open for a year already, it has just gone so fast! The rented apartments have all been full for months and we only have two that remain available to buy, the scheme has really been so well received.

“It’s so wonderful to have been a part of the past year though, it has been such a success and we have developed a lovely community here, I truly love my job and being a part of it all.”
