Buying my Home at Rosewell House - Rita's Story

“I wanted to find somewhere where I could benefit from some support but still be independent, my two-bedroom terraced house in East Peckham was no longer suitable for me, so my family and I started the search.

“My daughter saw an advert for Rosewell House on the way to Tunbridge Wells, we researched it and decided to come and take a look. When we arrived, I was impressed with the welcoming reception area and everyone was having lunch in the dining room. I thought yes, this is exactly what I want, it felt right for me. Needless to say, we didn’t look at anything else after that!

“My daughters actually got a bit emotional as they thought I might end up living away from them. They were so happy we had found Rosewell House and so I was I. Also, it was my decision, I had decided to be here and that meant a lot to me.

“During my first week here, I put my name down for everything, all of the activities that were on offer, but it was actually too much! Now I just pick and choose a few of the activities as there is so much going on, I always attend the weekly church service, which is lovely as I have always gone to church.

“My life has changed completely since being here, I go down to lunch every day and everyone chats to one another, it is just so nice. I was so glad I could bring my cat too, as I have had her for seven years. It’s been a big change for both of us but we’re getting used to it!”
