Sevenoaks District Council have approved plans for not for profit care provider and housing association, Rapport Housing & Care to develop an extra care housing scheme in Nightingale Road, Kemsing.

Starting on site in the autumn of 2018, the extra care housing scheme will comprise 51 spacious one and two-bedroom apartments (31 1-bed and 20 2-bed) available to purchase and for affordable rent, through Sevenoaks District Council. The apartments will be specifically for over 55s, who would benefit from care and/or support.

Alongside the apartments, residents will enjoy an excellent range of communal facilities, including a lounge, restaurant, terrace with orangery, activity room and hair salon and therapy room.

Extra care housing, often referred to as assisted living, enables older people to remain in their own homes for as long as possible within the community, whilst providing them with a degree of support, tailored to their individual needs.

Those living in extra care schemes enjoy living independent lives within the community, with peace of mind that they are in a safe and secure environment with housing staff on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week, should an emergency arise.
