Using a makeshift guitar made out of a quality street tub of all things, the singer entertained residents at the extra care housing scheme with an array of classics from the 1960s.

Encouraging them to get on their feet and dance, not that they need much encouraging, the singer performed plenty of upbeat numbers that were sure to get everyone in the party mood. After the performance, residents put their feet up and enjoyed a buffet tea as well as a well-deserved rest.

Helen Goulding, Housing Officer at Watling Court commented: “We quite often have singers visit to perform for our residents, they love it as they all really enjoy nostalgic music and they love to have a tipple together and dance the evening away.

“The entertainment evenings always provide a great opportunity for the residents to get together and have a laugh too, they’ve developed a real bond and a wonderful community here, which is excellent to be a part of.”
