Keen to put their own stamp on the garden ready for the warmer months, crafty residents of the Ifield Way scheme got together at their regular craft club, to paint some ornaments that were sure to spruce it up in time for summer.

Armed with plenty of bright colours, the artistic bunch spent a morning hand painting the ornaments they had chosen, which included birds, butterflies, toadstools and cats.

Painted and patterned, the finished ornaments were placed around the scheme’s courtyard and have created a bright and striking appearance, as well as a welcoming environment for residents to enjoy.

Helen Goulding, Housing Officer at the scheme said: “We have some lovely outdoor space here at Watling Court, but it really could have benefited from a bit of brightening up.

“The residents’ project to install some artistic ornaments has worked a treat and it looks a lovely space to spend time now, just in time for sunnier climes!”
