Extra Care Residents Shop Until They Drop

Residents of Watling Court Extra Care Housing Scheme spent a day being ladies of leisure, shopping and having lunch together at Chatham’s Outlet Centre.

Some of the ladies have formed firm friendships since moving into the Gravesend housing scheme and they love nothing more than a get together or a day out.

With the weather still rather grey and drizzly, despite the arrival of spring, the ladies headed out to the outlet centre at Chatham for a bit of retail therapy and a spot of lunch. They spent the morning browsing the shops and treating themselves before relaxing and putting their feet up for a well-deserved rest, whilst enjoying some lunch together.

Helen Goulding, Housing Officer at Watling Court commented: “Some of our residents have developed some great friendships with one another since moving in with us. It’s really lovely to see them building relationships and enjoying spending time together.

“Building communities and relationships is exactly what living in an extra care housing scheme is about, so it’s great to see the scheme working so well and benefiting the residents so much.”
