With fourteen homes across Kent, The Abbeyfield Kent Society has been providing care and compassion for older people across the county for 48 years.

The Society came together with Good Neighbours, Alzheimer’s Society and Rotherfield St Martin at St Mark’s Church in Tunbridge Wells, for a celebratory church service, commending the excellent work carried out by charities working hard to support the older people of Kent.

Throughout the event, representatives of each of the charities presented readings and prayers and the congregation sang a number of hymns.

Following the service, guests gathered next door in the church hall, where they were able to network and catch up with one another over a cup of tea and slice of cake.

Leon Steer, Chief Executive of The Abbeyfield Kent Society said: “There are a number of excellent charities in Kent doing an incredible job of supporting the older people in the area and we were delighted to be able to come together and celebrate this together.

“We believe that in working together we can achieve so much more and we are looking forward to supporting one another in the future to provide great care for the older people of the county.”
