With festive music filling the corridors and mince pies in easy reach, residents of the Dene Holm Road residential care home spent some time preparing their home for upcoming festivities, making handmade decorations and putting up their many trees.

Accompanied by staff, a group of resourceful residents got together to make their own paper chains and decorations, including some mini meringue wreaths to hang on their tree.

As well as making the decorations, residents helped staff to hang them and assisted with decorating the home’s numerous trees.

Christina Hammond, activity coordinator at Dene Holm commented: “We think it’s really important to make sure Christmas is wonderful for our residents, so we have lots going on in the run up to the big day.

“As well as themed craft sessions, seasonal baking and decorating the home, we have our annual festive fete and a big party with lots of family and friends on the 23rd.”
